Proud Veteran

Wille Nelson sang "My heroes's have always been cowboys." My heroes's have always been veterans. I am really proud to show some pictures of my family members and I who served our country in time of war.

I found this on the intenet, I hope you like it:

THE VETERAN

It is the VETERAN, not the preacher,
who has given us freedom of religion.

It is the VETERAN, not the reporter,
who has given us freedom ofthe press.

It is the VETERAN, not the poet,
who has given us freedom of speech.

It is the VETERAN, not the campus organizer,
who has given us freedom to assemble.

It is the VETERAN, not the lawyer,
who has given us the right to a fair trial.

It is the VETERAN, not the politician,
who has given us the right to vote.

I was commissioned Second Lieutenant in the US Army in 1971 and was discharged as a Captain in 1986. I wasn't a hero, but I served with some guys that were. I think once you put on the uniform of your country and realize you could die in it, like so many other young americans have had to do over the last 228 years you just look at things a little differently. This is why most veterans tend to have a special love and appreciation of our country.
